Description	Phytoremediation is already an accepted tool in removal of contaminants from the environment. Test of Cd accumulation by plants was conducted on sand media with addition of Knop's nutrient solution modified by addition of cadmium. The results showed thatwhile control WSC-38 whole plants accumulated in average 17.7 mg Cd.kg-1 in above-ground parts, 8.7 in the roots, CUP1 did not increase the accumulation above the average of controls.
