Description
| - This article sketches the main explanatory model of performance, i.e. Seligman´s and his coworkers theory of learned helplessness, its attributional reformulation and recent hopelessness theory. Further are introduced theories elaborated by J. Kuhl and current concern theory elaborated by E. Klinger. J. Beckmann (in press) has extended this framework into a series of investigations in sport psychology. Beckmann´s two-level model of metaprocesses regulation have served as a main theoretical assumption. Sample consisted of 29 top young swimmers ranging in age from 12 to 13 years of age. Each swimmer was as asked by the coach to swim as fast as possible for 50 m event, 100 m, 300 m, and 400 m respectively and they received false feedback. After 30 minutesof rest, each swimmer swam the event again. The coaches reated each performance on 1-7 scale from much worse than expected to much better than expected. Evaluation we started with stepmise regression. For a reasonable predictors was determined sex, both
