Description	In this paper there was evaluated trial with various percentages of triticale meal in ration dry matter (up to 42 %. The study was carried out on 12 heifers (Czech Fleckvieh, 241 - 338 kg live weight. The preparatory period was 2 wk, followed by the experimental period of 10 days. The sample of triticale meal was added to the feed of clover/grass silage. The rumen fluids were removed from the heifers 3.5 hours after the end of the main period using a stomach tube for rumen fluid removal. Protozoa from the family Isotrichidae were preserved in 10% methanal, dyed with methylene blue and counted in a Fuchs-Rosenthal counting chamber according to the method of VFU Brno and Dehority. There was a significant correlation between percentage of triticale meal and – 1) No. of rumen protozoa (r = 0.73: P< 0.05), 2) pH (r = -0.69: P< 0.05), 3) volatile fatty acids (r = 0.69: P< 0.05) but not in total acidity (r = 0.56: P>0.05).
