Description
  • The paper presents the analysis of heat and moisture transport in hydrating concrete. The main focus is devoted to the prediction of heat, which is generated during concrete hydration. A two-scale approach is employed. Firstly, the hydration material parameters on the microscale are computed by an analytical model that accounts for the majority of underlying chemical reactions as well as topology of cement grains (with the consequence to hydration kinetics). A macroscale FEM model is utilized to carry out the analysis as a whole with a strong coupling to the microscale. The presented model is implemented in ATENA software, which demonstrates two-scale approach on a newly erected bridge.
