Description	The present paper deals with an analysis of the resistance of fillet welded joints used for steel structures. The calculation of nominal stresses by applying classical mechanics, and the calculation of stresses caused by the macro-geometrical change of structure form are the most practical instruments for a design of welded structures, namely for designers, too. An algorithm will be presented which, in accordance with standard prescriptions, links together the advantages of classical theory with possibilities of contemporary computer technology.
