Description
| - MEDSA - N,N-dimethyl-N-metacryloxyethyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)ammonium betaine as a zwitterionic polar functional monomer in combination with seven crosslinking monomers were used for preparation of capillary monolithic columns suitable for separation of polar compounds in hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC). Ethylene dimethacrylate, tetramethylene dimethacrylate, hexamethylene dimethacrylate, dioxyethylene dimethacrylate, pentaerythritole triacrylate, bisphenol A dimethacrylate, and bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate were used as crosslinking monomers (Fig 1). Columns prepared with dioxyethylene dimethacrylate and bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate showed the efficiency up to 70 000 N/m. Columns provide good repeatability of elution volumes with relative standard deviations lower than 1.3 % on both types of columns. Dual retention mechanism allows the separation in HILIC and RP mode. Capillary monolithic columns, id 0.53 mm, were used in the first dimension of the two-dimensional liquid chromatography for separation of complex mixture of phenolic compounds. Anglická klíčová slova: Monoliths; Characterization; MEDSA
