  • Liquid mercury free, polished silver solid amalgam electrode (p-AgSAE) proved experimentally to be a suitable substitute for the hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) or meniscus modified solid amalgam electrode in electrochemical (voltammetric) analyses. This electrode has been so far mostly used for determinations of some inorganic ions or some nucleic bases. In this paper, its successful applications for determination of four different types of biologically important organic compounds are described: L-α-amino acid cysteine (on the basis of formation of its complex with cuprous ions), ascorbic acid (vitamin C), nitro compounds (1,3-dinitrobenzene and 2,4-dinitrotoluene), and benzaldehyde. The achieved results proved that this electrode type exhibits in some cases limits of detection as low as HMDE. Low levels of RSD (0.89 ? 3.3 %, n = 11) of repeated measurements confirmed that the used mode of electrochemical regeneration of p-AgSAE was sufficient, and it provided reliable results of determina

  • Leštěná stříbrná pevná amalgámová elektroda se jeví jako vhodná alternativa ke rtuťové visicí kapkové elektrodě. Tato elekroda byla doposud úspěšně použita pro stanovení řady anorganických látek a některých nukleových bází. Cílem této práce je prokázat možnost jejího použití i pro stanovení řady důležitých organických látek, např.: cysteinu, benzaldehydu, kyseliny askorbové nebo nitrolátek. Získané výsledky ukázaly, že testovaná elektroda vykazuje v mnohých případech detekční limity srovnatelné se rtuťovou elektrodou. (cs)
