Description	During the ecotoxicological monitoring programme in the Šance water-supply reservoir (watershed of the river Oder, Czech Republic) a single case of a Sertoli cell adenoma (SCA) was identified in a northern pike, Esox lucius L. Histologically, the tumour was composed of tubular-like structures, consisting of lightly coloured cells with a clear cytoplasm and medium-sized, slightly anisomorphic nuclei containing prominent nucleoli. Glandular formations with a lining epithelium of Sertoli cells, and lacking a germinal epithelium, were separated by a fine, fibrovascular stroma that was similar to normal stroma separating the seminiferous tubules elsewhere in the testis. The other component of the tumour consisted of solid sheets of spindle-shaped cells, with incipient, moderate and advanced fibroplasia/fibrosis. Neither sclerosis nor calcification were present. Locally, there were deposits of necrotic debris with reactive inflammatory cell infiltrates and macrophage aggregates present.
