| Description
| - The wells with signed lithostratigraphic units and reflection seismic lines were used for geological interpretation of the Carpathian Foredeep and for the better understanding of geological development. From the paleontological point of view the stratigraphical position of the Ivan Member has not been unambiguously clarified. Results of the micropaleontological studies (foraminifers, calcareous nannofossils) document the Karpatian (the Laa Formation in the Cf 600 Drnholec-5; zone M4a, b sensu Berggren et al. 1995, zone NN4 sensu Martini 1971) and Lower Badenian age of sediments (Grund Formation sensu Roetzel,Pervesler 2004), zone NN5 - horizon with Helicosphaera waltrans (Ćorić,Švábenická 2004), zone M5a and the lowermost part of the zone M5b sensu Berggren et al. (1995).

- Pro lepší porozumění geologického vývoje a vymezení litostratigrafických jendotek byly použity karotážní záznamy, seismické řezy a mikropaleontologické analýzy. Z paleontologického pohledu stratigrafická pozice ivaňských vrstev nebyla jednoznačně určena. Výsledky paleontologických studií (foraminifery, vápnité nanofosílie) dokládají stáří karpat (laaské souvrství ve vrtu Cf 600 Drnholec-5; zóna M4a, b sensu Berggren et al. 1995, zóna NN4 sensu Martini 1971) a spodní baden (grundské souvrství sensu Roetzel,Pervesler 2004), zóna NN5 - horizont s Helicosphaera waltrans (Ćorić,Švábenická 2004), zóna M5a a nejspodnější část zóny M5b sensu Berggren et al.
