Description	The presence of significantly shortened telomeres are in MDS patients associated with more frequent chromosomal aberrations and with higher risk of disease progression towards advanced form of MDS and leukemic transformation. We showed that telomere dynamics might serve as useful prognostic factor for assessment of an individual MDS patient´s risk and for decision of optimal treatment strategy.
