Description	In Czech Republic rural area represents historical, cultural, social, ecological and economic interconnected system. At present this system suffers from negative tendencies that threat sustainable development of this area. The aim of this project is to suggest strategies for development of rural area overcoming these negative trends and tendencies. Our approach is based on Strategic Directions of EU for Regional Development and Conception of Development of Rural Area in CR in 2007-2013. The main contribution of this project would be suggestion of model strategies of development in different types of rural areas. Typology of these areas will be based on description of critical factors and their negative influence on rural area development.
