Description
  • Underwater Pulse High Voltage Discharges (UPHVDs) will be studied as an atmospheric-pressure plasma source for hydroxylation of polymer surfaces in the form of films, fabrics, and powders. Contrary to the conventional polymer surface treatment using dielectric barrier discharges, UPHVDs are expected to generate well-defined highly-hydroxylated polymer surfaces advantageous, for example, for medical textiles and a wide scale of polymer coating applications as post-plasma polymer grafting, immobilization of nanoparticles, sol-gel coatings, etc.The polymer surface hydroxylation will be studied using SIMS, MALDI, XPS and FTIR spectroscopy methods. The plasma-induced changes in the surface topography will be studied using AFM and SEM. Systematic surface energy studies, including ageing effects, will be done and correlate with the results of above mentioned methods.The plasma parameters and OH density will be studied using LIF and emission spectroscopy methods.Based on the results obtained using the above method, the reactor characteristics as, for example, the electrode geometry, pulse voltage waveform and frequency, water conductivity and Fenton - type catalyser content will be optimised.   • Cílem je studium interakce plazmatu pulzního VN výboje generovaného ve vodě (UPHVD) s povrchem polymerních materiálů (vlákna, tkaniny, atd.). Měřené parametry UPHVD a charakterizace povrchu materiálu využít k optimalizaci zařízení k získání těchto materiálů s definovanými povrchovými vlastnostmi.
