Description
  • The main objective of the proposed research is to deepen and expand understanding of higher dimensional generalizations of the relativistic theory of gravitation. Specifically, we intend to focus on the investigation of exact solutions to Einstein's field equations that describe gravity in higher dimensions. We plan to find D>4 generalizations of some important classes of the familiar four-dimensional spacetimes, to investigate their relation to the standard D=4 cases, analyze their properties, clarify their geometrical and physical interpretations, and determine their possible applications. In these studies we will build on our expertise and experience gained during previous investigation of various exact solutions in D=4 classical General Relativity. The results of the project will be published in leading scientific journals and reported at international conferences. The project would mainly support our collaboration with research groups abroad and participation at international conferences. (en)
  • Cílem projektu je prohloubit porozumění teorii gravitace zobecněné do vyšších dimenzí. Budeme zkoumat přesná řešení Einsteinových rovnic ve více rozměrech, hledat zobecnění některých důležitých tříd prostoročasů, analyzovat jejich vlastnosti a podáme jejich geometrickou a fyzikální interpretaci.
