| - Overall goal of this project is to identify, attract, motivate, and educate students for the most challenging areas of biology, medicine and bioinformatics. The outcome of this project will be the creation of a critical mass of highly educated and motivated students and/or junior researchers ready to actively participate in biomedical science. Specific aims of this project are: (i)Creation of an innovative PhD course with introductory period of rotation around laboratories involved in this project. This rotation allows for deeper understanding and knowledge of PhD students in various areas related to current biomedical sciences. In addition, it is expected that such innovative PhD course attracts the best students and increase their ability to utilize new technologies. (ii)Creation of undergraduate courses of “Modern approaches in applied cell biology”, “Basics in molecular biology”, “Real-time PCR”, “Modern technologies in genome analysis”, “Bioinformatics”, “Biocatalysis”, and “Cell manipulations”. (iii)Creation of summer school “Protein engineering” that will focus on the most talented high school and university students and teach them in nontrivial techniques that are highly important for research and development of biomedicine. (iv)Creation of an advanced and intense English course for doctoral students and scientists with aim to develop their skills in communication with press, scientific work, and ability to apply for research projects and publish scientific papers. Scientists from four leading laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Natural Science with complementary expertise in biological and biomedical sciences will realize the activities listed above. - %22Mendelovo centrum pro vzdělávání v biologii, biomedicíně a bioinformatice%22 je určeno pregraduálním, postgraduálním studentům a akademickým pracovníkům, kteří působí nebo budou působit v oblasti VaV. Projekt je také zaměřen na talentované středoškolské studenty. Cílem projektu je zkvalitnění lidských zdrojů pro dynamicky se rozvíjející obory na pomezí biologie, medicíny a informatiky. V rámci projektu budou nově vytvořeny a inovovány kurzy %22Moderní směry v aplikované buněčné biologii%22, %22Základy molekulární biologie%22, %22Real-time PCR%22, %22Moderní technologie analýzy genomu%22, %22Bioinformatika%22, %22Biokatalýza%22 a %22Buněčné manipulace%22, vytvořen nový pregraduální kurz pro rotační stáže doktorských studentů, vytvořena letní škola pro talentované středoškolské a vysokoškolské studenty. V Centru bude celoročně probíhat jazykový kurz odborné angličtiny pro pregraduální studenty a zaměstnance. Plánované aktivity budou realizovány zaměstnanci čtyř významných pracovišť Lékařské a Přírodovědecké fakulty.

| - Cílem projektu byly inovace a zavedení nových předmětů do výuky na Masarykové univerzitě a tím zvýšeni odbornosti studentů. Tento cíl se podařilo bezesporu naplnit. Dalšími cíli byla popularizace výzkumné práce a vytipování talentovaných studentů se zájmem o biologii, kteří by se mohli na výzkumných činnostech týmů Mendelova centra podílet (cs)
- The aim of the project was an innovation and the introduction of new subjects into the curriculum of Masaryk University and the increased proficiency of students. This goal was certainly achieved. Other objectives was the popularization of research and identification of gifted students with an interest in biology, who could be the team's activities Mendel's research centers involved. (en)
