Description
  • A novel algorithm for rezoning of computational meshes is proposed, based on reconnection of nodes, without any repositioning. Since the ultimate objective is an efficient mesh quality improvement method for ALE simulations, the physical behavior of the simulated problem is taken into account. The proposed process minimizes the error of interpolation of a particular discrete function, such as the mean value of some state variable, which characterizes the system under study. A practical implementation of the method is suggested and its usability demonstrated by selected numerical examples.
