Description
| - High-Tc cuprates are superconductors of II-type with a problem of current losses caused by early vortex melting. Vortices can be pinned down by structure defects or by particles of size comparable with coherence length of the superconductor. Substitution of %22foreign%22 cations into superconducting cuprates is still noteworthy for possibilities to affect properties of prepared materials. One of the main problems with preparation of such material is to ensure distribution and appropriate size of a secondary phase playing role of pinning centre. Bi-2223 phase consists of five cations and is build out of alternating rocksalt-like and perovskite-like layers. This high-Tc phase is formed in solid state by multistep reaction via many mixed oxides. The following reaction mechanism is generally accepted [1,2] in solid state reaction between oxides and carbonates of Bi, Pb, Sr, Ca and Cu: Raveau phase (2201) or 2212 phase is firstly produced, then it reacts with mixed oxide of Ca and Pb forming Pb-ri
