Description
| - 82 species of the family Ephydridae were found in the study area which represent about 63 % of the total Czech fauna and about 79 % of the Bohemian fauna. The most of species show Palaearctic distribution (28 spp., 34.2%), followed by species with Holarctic (15 spp., 18.3%) and European distribution (13 spp., 15.9%). Two species noted here are new to the Czech Republic: Notiphila maculata (Osek, nr. pond, 14.-19.vii.1996, pan traps, 1 female) and Hydrellia tarsata (Pokrok nr. Duchcov, dump restoration, shores of a pond, 10.vi.1997, 1 male). Because these species have Palaearctic (West Palaearctic) or temperate European distribution, their occurence in this country was expected. Further nine species are new to the fauna of Bohemia: Ditrichophora moraviae (Bílina-Bezovka, edge of mixed wood, 9.vii.1997, 1 male, 2 females), Hyadina humeralis (Bílina-Štěpánov, nr. brook, 10.-19.iv.1996, pan traps, 1 female), Hydrellia nigricans (Duchcov-Křinec, pan traps, 17.-18.9.1997, 1 female), H. obscura (Bílina, near
