  • Hybridizace mezi dvěma druhy – Helicoverpa armigera a Helicoverpa assulta byla studována. Křížení mezi samicemi H. armigera a H. assulta produkuje pouze fertilní samce a sterilní jedince bez penisu nebo ústí bursy na genitálním segmentu. Larvy a kukly svlékající se do abnormálních dospělců měly delší vývoj než normální jedinci. Sterilita nebyla zapříčiněna pouze malformaci vnějších genitálií, ale také různými abnormalitami vnitřního reprodukčního systému: 1) nepřítomnost vnitřních pohlavních orgánů, 2) 1-3 nevyvinuté kopulační bursy, nebo 3) jedno nebo dvě nevyvinutá varlata. Normální samčí hybridi ve srovnání se samci obou druhů vykazují vyšší letovou aktivitu. Naproti tomu, kříženci mezi samicemi H. assulta x samci H. armigera produkovali normální samce i samice. Práce popisuje morfologické odchylky u hybridních kukel a dospělců, atributy pohlavně vázané nebo cytoplasmatické inkompatibility, analýzu poměru samic, samců a abnormálních jedinců v F1 a F2 a potomků zpětného křížení.   • Hybridization between two species – H. armigera and H. assulta were studied. The cross between female of H. armigera × male of H. assulta yields only fertile males and sterile individuals without any penis and valva or ostium bursae on the genital segments. Sterility was done by not only external sex organs, but also the varieties of the abnormal internal reproductive system: 1) without internal reproductive organs, 2) with 1 to 3 the undeveloped bursa copulatrix, or 3) with one or two undeveloped testes. The normal male hybrid adults show higher flight activity in comparison with males of both species. On the other hand, the cross between female of H. assulta × male of H. armigera yields morphologically normal offspring of males and females. We describe some morphological abnormalities found in hybrid pupae and adults, attributed to large sex-linked or cytoplasmic incompatibility, and analyze the ratios of female, male, and abnormal individuals in F1, F2 and backcross offspring.
