| - V tomto článku jsme sestavili strukturovaný populační model rusa domácího Blattella germanica a příbuzného druhu B. bisignata, abychom zkoumali následující otázky: (i) zda cirkadiální hodiny ovlivňují dlouhodobou populační dynamiku těchto druhů, (ii) který z těchto druhů je silnějším kompetitorem, a (iii) jak důrazné by měly být strategie kontroly rusa domácího jakožto škůdce, aby výrazně ovlivnily populace tohoto druhu. Pouze důkladné modely populační dynamiky těchto švábů, založené na spolehlivých datech, mohou být užitečné v našem boji proti těmto nevítaným, avšak velmi houževnatým druhům. (cs)
- In this article, we develop a stage-structured population model of the German cockroach Blattella germanica and the double-striped cockroach B. bisignata to explore (i) whether their circadian clocks impact their long-term population dynamics, (ii) which of these species is a superior competitor, and (iii) how stringent potential pest control strategies have to be to significantly impact established populations of the German cockroach. Only carefully designed and data-based models of German (and double-striped) cockroach population dynamics can be helpful in our quest to win the fight over this unwelcome but very sturdy species.
