Description
  • The goal of this study was to verify, whether all-female perch juveniles grow faster than bisexual ones. Monosex all-female stock (AO) was produced by mating masculinizated females (neomales) with common females of local strain. Bisexual stock (BO) was obtained by routine method. The experiment lasted for 126 days and was preceded by pond-nursed (60 days) and conditioning period (14 days), respectively. Perch were held in 50 l aquaria connected on recirculation system, each group being tested in triplicate. No significant differences (P = 0.0646) in total survival were observed after 126 days of rearing between all-female and bisexual stock, but all-female perch (MO) gained 20 % more weight (P = 0.0480) than the bisexual (BO) (25.2 g ? 9.7 contrary to 21.0 ? 7.5; mean ? S.D.), suggesting that culture of monosex female perch could provide an economic benefit. Overall feed conversion ratio for tanks with mixed sex (1.43 ? 0.21) was significantly (P = 0.0173) higher than in tanks with all-female (1.30 ?

  • Cílem práce bylo ověřit zda celosamičí obsádka juvenilních okounů říčních roste rychleji v porovnání s bisexuální obsádkou. Monosexní (all-female) obsádka (AO) byla získána reprodukcí maskulinizovaných jikernaček (neomales) s normálními jikernačkami. Bisexuální obsádka byla získána běžnou metodou. Růstovému experiment(126 dní) předcházel odchov larev v rybnících (60 dní) a adaptace plůdku na intenzivní podmínky (14 dní). Okouni byli chováni v 50 l akváriích napojených na recirkulační systém. Obě skupiny byly testovány ve třech opakováních. V celkovém přežití nebyly nalezeny signifikantní rozdíly (P = 0.0646) po 126 dnech odchovu v intenzivních podmínkách, nicméně celosamičí obsádka (AO) dosáhla o 20 % vyšší hmotnosti (P = 0.0480) než bisexuální (BO) (25.2 g ? 9.7 versus 21.0 ? 7.5; průměr ? S.D.). Celkový koeficient konverze pro nádrže s bisexuální obsádkou (1.43 ? 0.21) by průkazně vyšší (P = 0.0173) než v nádržích s monosexní (1.30 ? 0.11). Růstová křivka obou skupin demonstruje, že vyšší růst samič (cs)
