  • This article reports on the photocatalytic activity of transparent crystalline TiO2 films deposited on unheated glass substrates at low substrate surface temperature using a dual magnetron operating in bipolar asymmetric mode in Ar+O2 mixture and equipped with Ti targets of 50mm in diameter. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2 films was characteriyed by the photocatalytic decomposition rate of two organic dyes (Acid Orange 7 and Methylene Blue). It was found that Acid Orange 7 is more convenient for the testing of PCA activity of TiO2 films due to its higher stability. It was shown that dual magnetron sputtering is suitable for a low temperature sputtering of thin TiO2 photocatalysts, thin TiO2 films sputtered at temperatures 180°C exhibit high PCA which strongly increases with increasing film thickness, and TiO2 films prepared at high values of pr anr po2 have anatase structure and highest PCA.

  • Článek se věnuje fotokatalytické aktivitě vrstev TiO2 deponovaných při nízké teplotě Tsurf=180°C v systému s pulzním asymetrickým duálním magnetronem vybaveným titanovými terči v Ar+O2 výboji. Fotokatalytická aktivita byla charakterizována rozkladem dvou organických barviv – acid orange 7 and methylene blue. Bylo zjištěno, že (i) barvivo acid orange 7 vykazuje vyšší stabilitu během UV ozařování než methylene blue, a je tedy vhodnější pro charakterizaci fotokatalytické aktivity vrstev, (ii) tenké vrstvy připravené v systému s duálním magnetronem při nízké teplotě vykazují velmi výrazné fotokatalytické vlastnosti, které závisí na jejich struktuře a tloušťce.
