| - Chromosomes of fourteen captive-born mountain reedbucks (Redunca fulvorufula) have been investigated. Chromosomal complement was 2n=56 (FN=60). The mountain reedbuck karyotype consists of two biarmed pairs resulting from two centric fusions involving chromosomes 2;25 and 6;10, respectively. In some animals, 57 chromosomes were detected. Variation in the diploid number was the result of polymorphism for the 6;10 centric fusion. Both X and Y chromosomes are large and acrocentric. The Y chromosome and the proximal part of the X chromosome appeared to stain entirely heterochromatic. The chromosomes X, 9 and 14 appeared to be of caprine type. Chromosomal aberrations have been detected in two of the 14 animals investigated. The de novo formed Robertsonian translocation 56,XX,rob(6;13) was found in one female heterozygote for the fusion 6;10. The double heterozygote was sharing monobrachial homology for chromosome 6.

- Sledovali jsme vliv postnatální expozice benzo(a)pyrenu (BaP) na vývoj dělohy, expresi estrogenového receptoru alfa (ER alfa) a na odpověď dělohy na stimulaci estrogenem za použití uterotrofní bioeseje u potkanů. Novorozencům byl každý den po dobu 14 dní s.c. aplikován BaP nebo ethynylestradiol nebo vehikulum (kontrolní skupina). Potkani byli zabiti ve stáří 23 dnů. Postnatální aplikace BaP v dávkách 1.0 a 10.0 mg/kg způsobila redukci váhy dělohy a snížení exprese ER alfa v luminálním epitelu. Zvýšení váhy dělohy a výšky luminálního epitelu po EE stimulaci ve 20-22 dni stáří bylo vyšší u všech skupin ve srovnání se skupinou nestimulovanou. Nicméně, uterotrofní odpověď potkanů postnatálně exponovaných EE a BaP byla nižší než u kontrol. Studie ukázala, že postnatální expozice BaP vyvolává změny v konstituci a maturaci ER alfa v děloze, což následně vede k narušenému vývoji a funkci dělohy u imaturních potkanů. (cs)
