Description
  • Modern technologies are very often connected to nanotechnologies. This work is focused on the evaluation of properties of nanocomposite painting system, containing carbon nanotubes (CNT). Carbon nanotubes represent one of the most promising nanomaterial. Their properties are characterised by presence of covalent bonds which are responsible of high temperature resistance. Carbon materials also show high tensile strength (up to 152 GPa), abrasion resistance, good sliding properties, etc. Research in this area of surface treatment showed that incorporation of nanoparticles improved the abrasion resistance of painting system. Characterisation of paint is necessary for understanding of tribological and corrosion properties. A number of methods were used to characterise all required parameters, e.g. abrasion, sliding properties, corrosion resistance, and adhesion.
