Description
  • The project focuses on the development of the knowledge base allowing for the effcient reduction of risk rising from the expected changes of distribution and voltinism of Ips typographus under climate change. The recent climate change scenarios developed for the Czech Republic allows for the prognosis of expected increase in number of fully developed generations of Ips typographus. This knowledge allows for the identification of regions, where the biotic disturbance regime of forest will worsen, and sever impacts on forest health and integrity may occur. Such tendencies have already been observed in recent years, thus data on accidental felling may be used for model validation. The analysis will be based on the recent generation of climate change scenarios with high spatial resolution developed within the frame of 6FP CECILIA (Central and Eastern Europe Climate Change Impacts and Vulnerability Assessment).
