Description
| - Distribution of plant species in the equatorial Andes was shaped by the glacial-interglacial altitudinal movements of vegetation belts along with topographical barriers for migration, such as deep valleys and high mountain ranges. Montane forest species are thus often found along one cordillera (cis-Andean distribution), whereas species from above-forest habitats are often distributed across cordilleras (trans-Andean distribution). To test the hypothesis that species from different vegetation belts have different migration history, we propose a phylogeographic study of three widely distributed Andean species of the genus Lasiocephalus. These species are representative of the montane forest, grass páramo, and superpáramo habitats. By employing molecular techniques, we will reconstruct the migration routes of the species and will interpret them in the context of the climatic changes during the Pleistocene. (en)
- Glacialní a interglaciální výškové posuny vegetačních pásů a topografických bariér pro migraci, jako jsou hluboká údolí a vysoké horské hřebeny, formovaly pattern rozšíření rostlin v rovníkových Andách. Druhy horského lesa se častěji nalézají pouze podél jednoho hřebene (cis-andské rozšíření), zatímco druhy nadlesních habitatů jsou obvykle rozšířeny přes oba hřebeny (trans-andské rozšíření). K otestování hypotézy, o odlišné historii migrací u druhů z odlišných vegetačních pásů, předkládáme fylogeografickou studii tří hojně rozšířených andských druhů rodu Lasiocephalus. Tyto druhy zastupují prostředí horského lesa, travinné páramo a superpáramo. Prostřednictvím molekulárních technik budeme rekonstruovat migrační cesty druhů a interpretovat je v kontextu klimatických změn v průběhu Pleistocénu.

| - Lasiocephalus is a neotropical genus containing forest and páramo species. In conflict with original expectations, our molecular data and cytometry imply a repeated colonization of páramo in at least two distinct waves. (en)
- Neotropický rod Lasiocephalus zahrnuje lesní a páramové druhy. Molekulární a cytometrická data naznačují, že ke kolonizaci páramos došlo, v rozporu s původním očekáváním, opakovaně a to nejméně dvakrát. (cs)
