Budeme variovat a zkoumat podmínky generace laserového plazmatu vzhledem k možnosti vychýlení obsahu L a D forem směrem obvyklým v současné živé hmotě, kde převažují L formy aminokyselin a D formy cukrů. Tyto experimenty umožní testovat hypotézu preferenčního vzniku určitého enantiomeru současným působením silných nestacionárních elektrických a magnetických polí v chemicky reaktivním plazmatu indukovaným různými typy laserů. Pozornost bude věnována i konkurenčním mechanismům, především fotochemickým a radiačně chemickým. Projekt je založen na kombinaci unikátních zdrojů záření a plazmatu dostupných na FZÚ a pokročilých analytických a diagnostických technik zvládnutých na ÚFCH a PřF. (cs)
The goal of the project is to test the hypothesis that laser-produced plasmas may serve as laboratory models of high-energy-density events that could potentially lead to the formation of chiral organic molecules from inorganic gases in planetary atmospheres. The conditions of laser-plasma generation will be varied to obtain and maximize an excess of one enantiomer in the direction of homochirality typical for contemporary living matter. The proposed mechanisms of asymmetric synthesis are based on the simultaneous action of self-generated, non-perpendicular electric and magnetic fields on the chemically active region of laser plasmas. Alternative mechanisms, e.g., photo- and/or radiation chemical, will also be investigated with respect to radiation processes occurring in laser plasmas. The project will benefit from the unique combination of plasma and radiation sources available at IP-ASCR and the advanced analytical and diagnostic techniques provided by other participants. (en)
