Description
| - The objective of the project is to constrain the origin of two mica granites of the Variscan Moldanubian (South Bohemian) batholith by means of their mineralogical and geochemical (whole rock) composition, and by composition and evolution of selected accessory minerals (monazite, xenotime, zircon and apatite). These analytical data will be used to assess the original sources and PTX conditions of granite melt formation, as well as the role of magma evolution through fractional crystallization. Data shall be compared for all two-mica granite varieties, occurring in the whole area of the South Bohemian batholith (Czech Republic, Austria and Bavaria). Due to this large data set, a new understanding is expected of those large-scale geological processes that generate granite complexes of batholithic dimensions at the end of orogenic cycles. The study of radioactive accessory minerals, with reference to their magmatic crystallization and later alteration (mobility of U, Th and REE in fluids), has relevance (en)
- Řešením projektu bude vytvořena jednotná klasifikace dvojslídných granitů moldanubického batolitu, detailně charakterizováno jejich minerální a chemické složení, včetně složení a vývoje akcesorických minerálů a vytvořen nový petrogenetický model.

| - Granity typu Mrákotín/Číměř vznikly dehydratačním tavením biotitu při teplotě 735-884 °C, kdežto granit typu Deštná vznikl dehydratačním tavením muskovitu při teplotě 622-760 °C. Rozdíly v poměru CaO/(FeO + MgO + Ti02) mezi třemi typy dvojsiídných granitů moldanubického batolitu indikují částečně rozdílný původní zdroj granitové taveniny. (cs)
- The Mrákotín/Číměř granites were generated by dehydration melting of biotite at temperatures in the range 735-884°C, whereas the Deštná granite was generated by dehydration melting of muscovite at temperatures in range 622-760°C. Differences in the CaO/(FeO + MgO + Ti02) ratio between two-mica granite types of the IVloidanubian batholith indicate partly different original source of granite melt. (en)
