Description
  • The project elaborates the topic of proposer's PhD thesis which investiagted transformations of Roman religion caused by the establisment of the Principate. This topic is further developed in detailed focus on one important strand of ancient religious traditions: ancient mystery cults. It aims to create a suitable interpretative framework which could enable an objective analysis of ancient mystery cults and their transformations, interactions and conflicts with other elements of the religious world of the Roman Empire. The project also concentrates on the less-investigated questions in the study of ancient mystery cults, e.g. the character of their soteriology, methods of their proselytization and their social structure. The project is methodologically based in the historical studies and takes into account especially contempory literary texts and information coming from epigraphical sources. The work on the project is planned into three years.   (en)
  • Příprava dvou magisterských kurzů pro studijní program religionistika věnovaných: 1) problematika proselytace a konverze v náboženstvích pozdní antiky; 2) podrobné představení jednoho z mysterijních kultů. Publikace dvou odborných studií a monografie. Vystoupení na dvou mezinárodních konferencích.
