Description
  • In more than three hundred years of history of the Brtnice chateau, the most important part was played, apart from the renowned Rambaldo XIII, by Antonio Rambaldo Count Collalto (1681-1740), imperial secret councillor, diplomat, an erudite and major art patron whose cultural activities are to become the subject of the proposed project. The project is scheduled to culminate in a publication dedicated to this half-forgotten benefactor, who settled in Moravia. Among a number of communications that the learned count received from his friends from Italy, one finds a group of remarkable letters written by artists supported by the art-loving count. Famous painters and engravers, as well as those less-known today, worked for the count, such as Antonio Lucino, Giuseppe M. Crespi, Antonio David, and David Richter Sr. Their works would frequently find places in the chambers of the Brtnice chateau. The proposed project will focus particularly on the letters that the count received from painters, on the basis of which the author will try to trace back some of the count's artistic roles and functions, together with his commissions and relationships. In addition, the reader will be offered an insight into the mentality of this baroque courtier through Antonio Rambaldo's letters sent to San Salvatore, his birthplace, in 1709-1739. (en)
  • Předkládaný projekt by mělo završit vydání publikace s názvem Te facimus.
