Description	Obecným cílem projektu je zejména zvýšení bezpečnosti využívání jaderné energie a radioaktivních zdrojů. Bezpečné ukládání radioaktivních odpadů vyžaduje znalost o migračním chování radioaktivních kontaminantů v bariérách úložišť budovaných s použitím jílových materiálů a také vlastnostech těchto bariér. Prvním z cílů projektu je vývoj a aplikace elektromigrační cely a měřící metodiky, která významným způsobem urychlí potřebnou charakterizaci migrace kritických radionuklidů a případně i dalších kontaminantů bariérami jílového typu. Vyhodnocováním experimentů prováděných na vyvinuté aparatuře budou zjišťovány migrační vlastnosti jílových materiálů pro různé typy kontaminantů. Bude tak charakterizována schopnost daných materiálů zabraňovat šíření nebezpečných látek do životního prostředí. Druhým z cílů je sestavit aparaturu a metodiku vhodnou pro měření nenasycené hydraulické vodivosti bobtnajících materiálů zahrnující stanovení retenčních křivek těchto materiálů vyskytujících se na území České republiky. The overall objective of the project is to increase safety of nuclear energy cycle and the use of radioactive sources. Safe storage of radioactive wastes requires knowledge about the migration behavior of radioactive contaminants in repository barriers that are usually composed of clay materials and the properties of these barriers and materials. One of the goals of the project is development and application of electromigration cell and measurement methodology that allows speeding up of necessary characterization of critical radionuclides and other contaminants migration within clay type barriers. Migration properties of clay materials for different types of contaminants will be detetermined, using the developer cell. Following that the ability of studied materials to prevent the spread of hazardous substances into the environment can be evaluaed. The second goal is to construct an apparatus and develop the methodology suitable for measuring unsaturated hydraulic conductivity of the swelling clay materials, originated from Czech Republic. The device should be also used for determination of retention curves for the materials. (en)
