| Description
| - The present project has been designed to elucidate the response of the somatotrophy axis to dietary protein restriction. The project is coherent with studies of somatostatin system within hypothalamus and GH cells of the pituitary gland. Our prior results suggested no influence of long lasting dietary protein restriction on IGF-I levels in young female sheep , on the contrary GH levels were increased. It has been shown that nutrient intake is a potent regulator of gene expression and plasma concentration of mainly project is to follow both long period (3months) changes and daily changes in the GH, IGF-I and IGFBPs levels in the plasma of young female lambs and to describe changes in the concentration of these growth regulators on restrictedprotein diet conditions. - Cílem navrhovaného projektu je zjistit odpověď somatotropní osy na restrikci diety z hlediska bílkovin, zejména pak zjištění, zda změny ve složení proteinové komponenty krmné dávky mají vliv na obsah vazebných proteinů IGF-I. IFGBP-3 odráží celkovou hladinu růstových faktorů, což mnohem lépe koreluje s dostatečností GH než analýza IGF-I. V rámci tohoto projektu bude pro dosažení vysoké spolehlivosti, reprodukovatelnosti, citlivosti a ekonomické dostupnosti modifikována metoda stanovení vazebných proteinů pro IGF. (cs)
