| Description
| - DNA technology providing numerous marker loci for genetic maps together with modern statistical methods enable the dissection of quantitaive traits to traits with Mendelian inheritance amenable to further genetic manipulation. The objective of the project is typing of microsatellites, eventually of candidate genes on chromosome 4 and on another not yet specified chromosome in three F2 reference families (Wild Boar x Pietrain, Meishan x Pietrain, Wild Boar x Meishan) producet at Hohenheim University and scoring of 38 classical markers in the third family for mapping of QTL using the least square method. Among the expected results are the extension of porcine genetic map and mapping of QTL which can be used for: improvment of commercial breeds by means of MAS, for manipulation of QTL by DNA technology, and as an animal model of human obesity. - DNA technologie poskytují dostatečný počet polymorfních lokusů ke konstrukci genetických map, které, spolu s moderními statistickými metodami, umožňují disekci kvantitativních znaků na jednoduše dědičné znaky přístupné další genetické manipulaci. Předmětem projektu je testování mikrosatelitů, případně kandidátních genů na chromozómu 4 a dalším zatím nespecifikovaném chromozómu u tří F2 referenčních rodin (divoké prase x pitrain, meishan x pitrin, divoké prase x meishan) připravených Universitou v Hohenheimu a dále 38 klasických polymorfních znaků u poslední rodiny za účelem mapování QTL metodou nejmenších čtverců. Výsledkem bude rozšíření genetické mapy prasete a identifikace QTL. Poznatky budou použitelné: ke zlepšení komerčních plemen prasat prostřednictvím MAS: k manipulaci QTL pomocí DNA technologií: jako model lidské obezity. (cs)
